Welcome to the BetaTrain website

BetaTrain is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN): ‘European Training Network for Excellence in Molecular Imaging in Diabetes'. It is a four-year project funded by the European Commission bringing together 7 renowned research institutes and 3 private sector partners, each specialized in different aspects of beta cell/diabetes imaging.

BetaTrain joins forces between experts from five European FP7 consortia with cutting-edge expertise in the field of beta cell/diabetes imaging and image processing (BetaImage, VIBRANT, IMIDIA, ENCITE, MADEIRA).

BetaTrain not only provides a unique multidisciplinary intersectoral training opportunity to young scientists in the field, but will also address the urgent challenges in our combat against diabetes.

BetaTrain has recruited 15 Early-Stage-Researchers (ESR, PhD students) at 10 partner organisations in 7 European countries.

The BetaTrain programme officially started on January 1, 2012. Through this website, we will keep you informed about the progress of our research and training network.

Yours sincerely,
