BetaTrain coordinator and fellows inform public during JDRF walk

June 2015

 BetaTrain coordinator Martin Gotthardt and fellows Wael Arabi Eter en Stefanie Willekens distributed flyers and gave information about type 1 diabetes and the BetaTrain research network during the Dutch JDRF Walk 2015 which took place on Saturday 13th of June in Zeist, The Netherlands. This event was organised by the JDRF Foundation to raise money for scientific research in the field of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Hundreds of people, among which diabetic individuals participated.

 

 

 

 

 


BetaTrain meeting in Geneva, Switzerland

January 2015

 All BetaTrain fellows and supervisors met on 12 January 2015 at the University of Geneva to give updates on their progress. Following the meeting, the fellows followed courses on Grant writing and Ethics, and a workshop on Tissue characterisation techniques.

 

Dutch BetaTrain members participate in annual JDRF walk

June 2014

BetaTrain coordinator Martin Gotthardt led the BetaTrain team which participated in the Dutch JDRF Walk 2014 on 14 June in Almere, The Netherlands. Aim of this annual event is to collect money for scientific research to cure, prevent, and treat Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). In total, 500 people participated in the walk and € 85.000 was collected for research. After the walk, Martin Gotthardt participated in the question & answer session with leading T1D scientists.     

 

 

 

 


BetaTrain meeting in Nijmegen, The Netherlands

May 2014

 The fifth BetaTrain meeting took place on May 26, 2014 at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Following the meeting, the fellows attended courses on management and communication skills, and a workshop on radiotracer imaging.


BetaTrain meeting in Frankfurt, Germany

 December 2013

 The Mid-Term Review meeting, attended by the project officer from Brussels, took place in Frankfurt on December 2 2013. On the subsequent two days, the fourth network meeting and the "Academia meets Industry" meeting were held. Venue on all three days was the Sanofi company in Industriepark Hoechst.


Dutch BetaTrain members participate in JDRF walk

June 2013

Dutch BetaTrain members participated in the Dutch JDRF Walk on 15 June in Almere, The Netherlands. This event was organised by the JDRF Foundation, a foundation that collects money for scientific research to cure, prevent, and treat Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Besides the walk, also a question & answer session took place with leading T1D scientists, among which BetaTrain coordinator Martin Gotthardt. BetaTrain meeting in Prague, Czech Republic

 July 2013

 The third BetaTrain network meeting took place in Prague on July 4 and 5 2013. Fifteen fellows and their supervisors attended this meeting. Preceding the meeting, the fellows participate in a workshop on MRI, MRS, live cell labelling, and tissue characterization, and followed a course in Excellence in Scientific Writing and Presentation.


 

BetaTrain meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark

 February 2013

 The second BetaTrain network meeting was held in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 4-5 2013. Fourteen fellows and their supervisors attended this meeting. After the meeting, the fellows followed courses on:
- Animal models
- Diversity and Intercultural Differences
- Intellectual Property Rights . 


 

BetaTrain General Assembly and Workshops in Tübingen

 October 2012

 The first BetaTrain network meeting was held at the University of Tübingen, Germany on Monday October 8 2012. Ten fellows and their supervisors attended this meeting. The rest of the week was devoted to workshops for the fellows. .
