Expertise

The School of Medicine of the University of Geneva is a leading academic centre with expertise in medical science and healthcare. The imaging groups with clinical expertise and charges, located at the University Hospital (HUG), collaborate with the research beta cell biology and imaging groups located at the University Medical Center (CMU). Collectively, they have an internationally recognised expertise in islet and beta cell biology + in vitro/in vivo imaging of beta cells, which is reflected in publications of top-level international journals. They have a long-standing well-documented track record in basic science research.

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Geneva and Lausanne (located in Geneva) is a leading centre in Switzerland. The Pharmaceutical Technology Research Unit has expertise in the development of novel formulations for diagnosis and for therapeutic purposes. Main efforts are devoted to molecular imaging and targeted drug delivery systems.

UNIGE is an internationally recognised centre of expertise for islet and diabetes research, small animal imaging and tracer development. There is unlimited access to state-of-the-art cell imaging (confocal and 2 photon microscopy,TIRF, electron microscopy,...), and small animal imaging facilities (CT, FLI/biofluorescence, 1.5-14T MRI).
